Editor Jonathan Stenton has worked with me on two series of the long form Netflix documentary series, ’Sunderland ’Til I Die.’
He was the driving force behind both first episodes where the biggest challenge was to create a compelling narrative whilst simultaneously introducing our large cast of characters and imparting huge swathes of information in a clear and concise manner. He achieved this skilfully and successfully and those first two episodes form the bedrock of a highly successful series.
He brings huge enthusiasm, commitment and creativity to a role that is not only challenging, but energy sapping – working through thousands of hours of multi-camera material across ten months of filming.
You won’t find an editor who cares more about a project than Jonathan. He’s fun to have around, wears shorts even in the most inclement weather and always offers up a full and frank opinion of every situation.
